Weapons stash discovered
Ismail Rifau, Political Correspondent

Male’, Maldives, 23rd January 2006 (olhuala.com) – The Maldives Police Services (MPS) have discovered a stash of weapons in the eastern artificial beach area of the Capital. The MPS were working on a tip off received by a vigilant member of the public, when the discovery was made.

Sources within the MPS inform olhuala.com that ready-to-use, petrol bombs and sharpened steel rods and steel clubs were found at the scene.

“The weapons discovered were exactly like the weapons discovered at the MDP’s [Maldivian Democratic Party] Dhunfinihiya Haruge in August last year. We believe that these were prepared for the violence planned for tomorrow” said our source.

Olhuala.com will update on this situation as we receive more information.
