FuahMulaku Still Supports Maumoon and D.R.P

We have decided to publish a response to the article on dhivehiobserver; the MDP’s clandestine news website; stating that the people of our beloved island atoll is calling for the resignation of President Maumoon

This is in fact a fabrication. We the people of Fuahmulaku support our lawfully elected President and in no way want him to step down in the foreseeable future. We acknowledge the fact that President Maumoon has brought prosperity to the entire nation through hard work and dedication since 1978. He has enabled our economy to thrive and grow over the past two decades. The people of our island are eternally grateful for the brand new harbour provided for us by Maumoon’s government recently, this has enabled trade to increase two fold since its opening and has made our beautiful island more accessible for visitors and traders alike.

We would also like to condemn the acts of the MDP, such as slander, spreading of lies and the acts of violence they displayed on the streets of Male’ a fortnight ago. The international community can now see the true colours of the so called MDP. They are nothing but a bunch of criminals and power hungry liars who would go to any length to attain power for themselves. We the Maldivian people are aware of these truths and in no way support them.

In conclusion we would like to thank the President for his hard work for the country and would like to let everyone know that the overwhelming majority of the country still supports him and his party, the DRP.

Gasim Slams MDP !

Recently the poeple of Maldives was schocked to see Gasim Ibrahim joining DRP and there have been several here and there stories regarding the reasons for him to join DRP. Some claim he was bribed by maumoon while some MDP memberes believe he is still MDP and acting as a double agent. But lets try to understand the real reason for this sudden change from MDP to DRP!........
Many believed that Gasim have been funding MDP and their affliates for everything. I dont know, that maybe true, but why did Gasim suddenly join DRP? a week before the 12th of September, Gasim was in Sri Lanka and attended a meeting with other senior MDP members at Trans Asia. This meeting seems to be the turning point for Gasim. During this meeting Go Go Latheef and Umar Jamal(yes!! the guy who brought Tamil Tigers and killed innocent Maldivian) suggested to kill Maumoon or to attack him while he was out of the house for some occasion. Some suggented to do this while he attended some function like a wedding, while others suggented to attack him while he goes for his Friday prayers. We all know Gasim is a man of few words and a peace loving maldivian, so he did not support any of these crazy idears they were discussing in this meeting so he stoood up and said he was leaving and knowing that Gasim was not supporting this, Umar Jamal and others turned against Gasim!
So after sometime of thinking, Gasim quit MDP since he believed they were inciting violence and hatred among maldivians and they were not doing anything to help the poeple of the Maldives. While some MDP members are pleased to leave Gasim leave( so the poeple who have to run for leadership will be less) the majority is mourning at the loss of Gasim Ibrahim, whome they believed to be the real backbone and also to the fact that majority of the MDP supporters were Gasim supporters and him leaving MDP would mean the loss of so many members.
We, the poeple of Fuahmulak supports Mr.Gasim Ibrahim and wish him luck!
