MDP Support Plummets in the Atolls

Olhuala.com can report that the little support the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) had in the atolls is slipping through rapidly and that it is at an all time low. This is a huge blow for the MDP, with important by-elections just weeks away. This loss of support is due to the undemocratic ways the party leadership has conducted itself during the last couple of weeks.

To name a few instances, the incident of Mohamed Shihaab’s (MP for Male’, candidate for MDP leadership) hijacking of the Dhaal atoll Hulhudheli Branch Presidency comes to mind. Iqbal Hameed of Dhaal atoll Hulhudheli informed themaldivian.org that Shihab and his brother have hijacked the leadership of the branch. The MDP supporters in Hulhudheli were hoping to elect their own Iqbal Hameed and Huzaam to the posts of President and Vice President of the branch respectively. Hameed and his supporters have since travelled to Male’ to challenge Mr Shihaab for the post of Branch President. Olhuala.com has so far been unable to track Mr Hameed in Male’ for an interview.

Olhuala.com has found out that Mr Shihaab was desperate to become the President of any MDP branch, as this would be necessary for him to compete for the Party leadership.

This move by Mr Shihaab has surprised the majority of MDP supporters in the atolls as the MDP wooed them into believing that the MDP was a democratic organisation working for reform. But their actions do not seem to be in line with their words.

Furthermore, Mr Ibrahim Ismail (Ibura, MP Male’, candidate for MDP leadership) tried to register a few branches long after the party deadline for branch registration had passed. Haamid Abdul Gafoor, informed olhuala.com that Ibura tried to ‘sneak in a couple of his supporters to add eleven forms into the files in an effort to register eleven more branches’. Ibura who vowed to register 50 branches single handedly managed to register only one branch.

Mr Gafoor also said that he was disgusted with these events and was greatly disheartened that both Male’ MPs have been implicated in this way.

Political observers in the Maldives are not surprised by these events. Reputed Newspapers such as Haveeru Daily of Male’ predicted this sort of conduct from the MDP leadership as early as the day the MDP was fully registered.

In a recent article, Haveeru reported that the MDP’s spokesman in exile Latheef (Gogo) had been turned away by the Secretary General of the Commonwealth Mr Mckinnon at the CHOGM held in Malta recently.

The MDP’s secretive and illegal ways of operating are coming into light as these truths are made public my disgruntled MDP supporters like Mr Gafoor. ‘We actually believed that the MDP was a democratic organisation working for reform. But sadly I now think that these are a bunch of power hungry thugs, trying to muscle their way into power by any means’ added Mr Gafoor. He also indicated that he would be considering of moving to another party in the near future, if the MDP leadership did not clean up their act.

Hardingham Made to Eat His Words

As reported by Haveeru Daily of Male’, the leader of the MDP’s international wing (Maldives Aid) David Hardingham, a small time businessman from Salisbury, UK has failed to keep his promise. Hardingham was made to ‘eat his own words’ Haveeru reported (in a Dhivehi article).

Hardingham, who is also involved in shady dealings with fundamentalist groups, swore that he would assault Maldivian President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom, everytime Gayyoom set foot in Europe.

Hardigham failed to materialise anywhere near Gayyoom during the President’s successful visit to Malta, where he attended the Commonwealth Head’s of Government Meeting. Olhuala.com’s undercover reporters have found out that Hardingham was in fact planning ‘an attack that would scare Gayyoom out of his skin’ as Hardingham described it in his own words. Hardingham had brought troops from Colombo in the form of MDP spokesperson Latheef (Gogo) and his daughter Marnie Latheef.

Our reporters also found that Latheef was in fact ordered to tour Europe in an effort to divert international attention away from Hardingham’s more sinister activities (Hardingham was scheduled to attend numerous meetings with Gogo and Ms Latheef).

Olhuala.com is once again proud to inform its readers that an article posted on olhuala.com made Hardingham the horrible (as he is better known in the Maldives) to change his plan. Cynics believe that Hardingham did not chicken out. They argue that Hardingham did not know that Malta is in Europe.

A lot of Maldivians believe that Hardingham does not have any business meddling in Maldivian politics. It is not only a matter of what people think. It is illegal in the Maldives, as it will be everywhere else, for foreigners to meddle in internal politics.

Olhuala.com’s sources deep within the Government are predicting that the Maldivian people will take legal action against Hardingham in the near future for meddling in Maldivian politics. This might mean that Hardingham might finally get his chance to have his holiday in the Maldives.

Haveeru also reported that ‘92% of people in the Maldives believe that the MDP has no right in bringing foreigners such as Hardingham the horrible into Maldivian politics, even under the cover of a charity organisation’. Observers wonder whether the British Charities Commissions are aware of the clandestine activities David Hardingham is involved in, hidden behind a legitimate front.

Yet Another Blow for the MDP and its Disinformation Machinery

The MDP’s disinformation organisations such as Maldives Aid and clandestine websites such as Minivannews.com (run by David Hardingham, the leader of the MDP’s international wing) and Dhivehiobserver.com (run by MDP council member Ahmed Shafeeq Ibrahim Moosa) have faced numerous ‘technical’ difficulties this past week.

The main reason being that the International Community and Her Majesty’s Commonwealth, welcoming the Maldivian President with open arms.

Olhuala.com reported earlier this week that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II honoured President Gayyoom numerous times during the CHOGM held at Malta last week.

Further to this Mr Gayyoom was invited to make a statement on behalf of all the Asian countries during the last session of the Head’s of Government meeting.

Analysts believe that this gesture from the Commonwealth is in fact a further endorsement of President Gayyoom by the international community. It is not surprising that the MDP’s disinformation machinery have not come up with a viable argument to discredit the long serving Maldivian President in the light of these recent developments. In the past these websites claim that people have been bullied, threatened or bribed by Mr Gayyoom in order to make such positive statements about him. It is unlikely that the international community could be bribed or threatened by such a small and insignificant country such as the Maldives.

Are we to believe that the international community would have welcomed President Gayoom with open arms if he were a dictator and a tyrant as these websites claim him to be? It will be obvious to anyone with a bit of common sense that the international community would not have done so if this were the case.

In actual fact, President Gayyoom is well loved by his people, and has earned a great respect from the international community over the years owing to his work on creating awareness on sea level rise and the danger this phenomenon poses on low lying nations like the Maldives. President Gayyoom was re-elected for a sixth term in office in 2003 with over 90% of the vote.

The majority of Maldivians are appalled by the vicious lies the MDP is spreading about the well loved President through numerous channels such as their above named clandestine websites and other means. MDP spokesperson Latheed (GOGO) recently embarked on a trip to Europe in one such effort. His youngest daughter accompanied Latheef. The father-daughter duo sought several meetings with key figures to ‘convince’ them that Gayyoom was a dictator.

Olhuala.com has learnt that, the actual motive of the trip was to find a way to release Latheef’s eldest daughter who is serving time in jail after being convicted at a Maldivian court on terrorism charges.

In the light of these events questions on the legitimacy of the MDP and its motives arise. It is a well-known fact that the MDP has organised several violent riots in Male’ during the last year (Jennifer Latheed was arrested for acts of terrorism during one of these riots). It is also known that the mastermind behind these acts of violence is none other than (Sikka) Ahmed Ismail Maniku (convicted on 19 counts of murder, and terrorism in 1989, and sentenced to death, later pardoned by Gayoom).

It is becoming more apparent that the MDP is actually a ‘front’ used by Sikka and his family, namely his nephew Nasheed (Anni) the current Chairman of the MDP and Nasheed’s father Keneri Abdul Sattar who is a well-known wealthy businessman and terrorist. Keneri Abdul Sattar, conspired in 1974 to assassinate the then president of the Maldives Mr Ibrahim Nasir, with the help of would be assassin Abdulla Luthfee. Abdul Sattar and Luthfee smuggled in a firearm in an effort to shoot Mr Nasir as he was travelling home from his offices. The competent National Security Services of the Maldives foiled the plan. Luthfee was also convicted in 1989 on 19 counts of murder and for terrorism and sentenced to death as one of Sikka’s accomplices, and was later pardoned by President Gayyoom.

Queen Elizabeth II’s Public Endorsement of Maldives President

England’s Queen Elizabeth II endorsed President of Maldives at the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Malta on the25th of this month. President Gayyoom, honoured as a leading statesman was given the honour of dining at the head table with Her Majesty the Queen. In addition, in the official portrait he was positioned in the front row two places down from the Queen. To the immediate right of the Queen stood the out going Chairman of CHOGM. Next to him stood Donald McKinnon the Secretary General of the Commonwealth. Gayyoom was given stands next to Mr McKinnon.

This comes as no surprise to observers as Mr McKinnon has publicly supported the reform agenda undertaken by President Gayyoom. In the executive session of CHOGM, which followed, Gayyoom was the first speaker- outlining the reform agenda, which was again praised by McKinnon. Gayyoom also outlined Maldives’ plight with respect to tsunami recovery.

These events may shock MDP supporters and those who have been mislead by the MDP’s clandestine websites minivannews.com and dhivehiobserver.com, which try to maintain that Mr Gayyoom is a dictator.

Olhuala.com poses the above named websites some questions that they may find hard to answer. Do you expect the world to believe that Her Majesty’s Government and the Commonwealth will so publicly endorse such a dictator? Or will her Majesty even be in the same room as such a person? Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe was not even invited to the meeting. Once again Minivannews.com and dhivehiobserver.com what is your response to the Queen’s actions? Did Gayyoom bribe her? MDP Losing Support

The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has been losing support in the Capital, Male’ since the MDP leadership organised riots in Male’ last August. It is also thought that over a thousand MDP hardliners have since moved their loyalties to MDP rivals DRP or Adhaalath, within the last couple of weeks. This huge abandonment of the MDP by grassroots supporters comes as no surprise to political observers such as Haveeru Daily of Male’ who predicted such a drastic loss of support for the MDP following the MDP leadership calling for civil disobedience in Male’. This is why the MDP masses did not walk out on the streets of Male’ although Mohamed Nasheed (Anni) tried furiously through one of his loyal thugs Ibrahim Raheed (AKA I.C) of lhaviyani atoll, who was one of the leaders in the riots of August 12/13th 2004.

Minivannews.com, a clandestine website run by the MDP, through its international wing has been trying to woo foreign observers into believing that their efforts to create civil disobedience in Male’ are working. It will be evident to anyone with a knowledge of the Maldives and Male’ in particular that Minivannews, is run by a couple of foreigners who do not have a clue about Male’ or the Maldives for that matter. Chances are that they have not even been to the Maldives. David Hardingham of Salisbury, UK, leader of Maldives Aid ‘charity’ organisation, which in actual fact is the international wing of the MDP, certainly has not been to the Maldives. He had to return to the UK, from Colombo cutting short his planned holiday in the Maldives a while ago.

In a recent article titled ‘Civil disobedience has already begun”, Minivannews claimed that people ‘walked to the nearby Bandaara miskih for Friday Prayers, from Hukuru Miskih, when they found out that Maumoon was the Imam’. Foreigners might believe this story. But Maldivians will not. Why you may ask. It is due to the fact that a certain Islamic Centre (Islamin Marukaz), the largest mosque in the Maldives is situated between the two named mosques and people will go there rather than walk all the way to Bandaara Miskih, keeping in mind Friday prayers in the Maldives will be over by 1300 hrs (attendees will find out who the Imam is at about 25 minutes past noon). Hence, even if people did not want to pray behind Gayoom at Hukuru Miskih they would not have walked all the way to Bandaara Miskih.

Olhuala.com has since found out that the whole story on Minivannews is a fabrication and an effort to spread disinformation by the international wing of the MDP. In fact Gayoom conducted the Friday prayers as Imam at the Islamic Centre (TVM live pictures) NOT the Hukuru Miskih as reported by Minivannews. The majority of the ‘jama’ at’(not congregation) came and shook the president by the hand personally. If Maldivians ran Minivannews.com they would have known that their lies would not hold as TVM live pictures would have proved them wrong. But alas hired liars such as Hardingham and Paul Roberts who represent the international wing of the MDP in the UK and Colombo respectively run it.

Hardingham Chickens Out

In a recent article olhuala.com reported that Maldives Aid (international wing of the MDP) leader David Hardingham was planning to again physically attack much loved Maldivian President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom, who has sincerely served his country for over 35 years at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting held in Malta this week.

Hardingham a shopkeeper from Salisbury, UK, the self-proclaimed saviour of the Maldives is actually a hired front man for the MDP as recent evidence has shown. Although Hardingham is mere ‘hired help’ he has proven to be a ruthless character, increasingly taking over strategic control of the MDP. It was Hardingham who ordered MDP spokesperson Latheef (Gogo) to embark on his recent junket to Europe.

Olhuala.com is proud to report that the article it published earlier during the week has caused the international wing of the MDP to postpone their attack. Hardigham who personally feels safer on British soil is planning to carry out the attack when the Maldivian President visits London later this week. Hardigham reportedly told Nicola Witt, another MDP (international wing) member that ‘it would be better to surprise Gayyoom when he arrives in London”. It is his stated intention to cause Gayyoom grievous bodily harm (in an article published on minivannews.com Hardingham swore to attack Gayyoom every time Gayyoom sets foot in Europe). Hardigham attempted to assault the Maldivian President last September during a stop over in London on the President’s way from attending the UN General Assembly. But as reported in the media at the time, his attempt was foiled, as was his first attempt in Geneva some months prior to that.

Hardingham is a strong supporter of the Nasheed (Anni) faction within the MDP. This faction is the most radical faction that firmly believes in public disorder and violence as a means to political power. Hence it is not surprising that Hardingham is getting ever so strong within the MDP, as this hardline faction, financially supported by Sikka Ahmed Ismail Maniku (convicted on 19 counts of murder, terrorism in 1989, and sentenced to death, later pardoned by Gayoom) who is thought to be the brains behind Mohamed Nasheed (Anni), the current Chairperson of the MDP. These facts are evident in the way that MDP has always promoted violence as opposed to peaceful means of gaining political power. Minivannews.com is calling MDP and Adhaalath to boycott all-party meetings called for by President Gayyoom.

Although Hardigham and his cronies insist that they are in fact a charity organisation working to raise funds to help Maldives in the reconstruction process after the Boxing Day tsunami of 2004, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of their organisation. Do charity organisations run clandestine websites (minivannews.com) or attempt to physically attack foreign dignitaries on British soil? “Hardigham’s own actions are proving to be his downfall” as the British Foreign Office now regards Hardingham as a ‘deranged liar’ a source within the MDP revealed to olhuala.com. This is due to the numerous allegations he had filed with the Foreign Office with regard to the Maldivian Government, and due to the fact that the Foreign Office has since found out the truth.

"GOGO" in Malta

Olhuala.com has learned that Mohamed Latheef (Gogo) has arrived in Malta sometime last week. Gogo arrived in Valetta prior to the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting to join forces with MDP international wing leader David Hardingham who will join Latheef soon. It is also said that Latheef, who is the father of the convicted terrorist Jennifer Latheef arrived in the Maltese capital on special orders from Hardigham who is masterminding the attack on the Maldivian President.

It is also thought that Latheef and Hardingham will try and seek meetings with world leaders to spread their web of disinformation in an attempt to discredit the long serving Maldivian President who won the last Presidential election with over 90% of the vote. Analysts also believe that the MDP have requested appointments with known world leaders in an attempt to ‘legitimise’ their trip to Malta and to hide their true intention of physically attacking President Gayoom.

Latheef, a known liar and MDP hardliner is currently residing in exile in Colombo (self-imposed). Latheef allegedly cheated his partners for some $ 10 million (ten million United States Dollars) during his ownership of club Rannaalhi Island Resort during the 1980s. Those close to Latheef believe that Latheef resides in Colombo to accommodate for his huge drinking problem.

Time will only tell how the International wing of the MDP will carry out their attack on President Gayoom. Olhuala.com will inform its readers as information comes in.

Maldives Aid Thug Hardingham to Attack Maldivian President In Valetta, Maltese Security On High Alert

Olhuala.com has found out that MDP thugs lead by FOM (Maldives Aid) activist David Hardingham of Salisbury, UK will try to assault President Gayoom in Valetta, Malta during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting this week. An inside source in the MDP told olhuala that “it is his (Hardignham’s) plan to assault the president for the third time, to try and force the president to stay away from Europe”. It is yet unclear whether his loyal mobsters Sarah Mahir and Nicola Witt will join Hardigham.

Although Hardigham’s sole aim is to physically batter the President, the MDP is making several banners accusing President Gayoom of ludicrous allegations, so to ‘make it look like a peaceful protest’ added our source deep within the MDP. It has also come to our attention that the Maltese authorities are on the look out for Hardingham and his band of thugs as security is tightened in Valetta prior to the up coming event.

If Hardingham carries out his attack this time, it will be clear to all observers that although Hardingham claims to be working for a charitable organisation with no political motivation, he is, in fact working on a political agenda. It has recently been proven that the FOM (Maldives Aid) is actually the International Wing of the Maldivian Democratic Party.

FOM IS A BRANCH OF THE MDP.

Olhuala.com has found out that Friends Of Maldives (FOM) a so-called aid organisation formed to provide relief to the Maldives for tsunami recovery, is actually a clandestine political organisation. In fact it is the ‘International Wing’ of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).

FOM was formed in the UK as a charitable organisation in 2005. Their registered offices are held at 64 Milford Street, Salisbury UK, SP1 2BP. Olhuala.com has also found out that the FOM have not sent any aid to the Maldives as they claim so many times on their official website and sister clandestine website Minvannews. In actual fact the FOM ‘Founder” David Hardigham of Salisbury, UK was hired by MDP Godfather Sikka Ahmed Ismail (convicted on 19 counts of murder, terrorism in 1989, and sentenced to death, later pardoned by Gayoom) through his daughter Nazeeha. “Sikka sends Hardingham funds every fortnight, through Nazee” revealed a source within the MDP.

Observers have raised a lot of questions about the intentions and legitimacy of the FOM as a result of Hardingham’s actions. He has to date tried to physically assault the Maldivian President twice within the last year. He has tried within the last year to persuade travel operators (at tourism fairs) to boycott the Maldives as a holiday destination among Europeans. He has to date filed numerous false complaints at the British Foreign Office, about the Maldives. Are these the actions of someone working for charity? Someone working to work with the Maldivian people and the Government for the greater good of the people?

Olhuala.com has recently come across further evidence to prove that the FOM is in fact an organisation established and run by the MDP. MDP member Ahmed Shafeeg Ibrahim Moosa (Moosa represented the MDP on several occasions on the BBC) currently residing in Glasgow hired a London, UK law firm (Clyde & Co, 51 Eastcheap, London EC3M 1JP, UK) to finalise the constitution of the FOM. Rizwan Kanji who handled the case on behalf of Clyde & Co. told olhuala.com that Mr Moosa contacted his firm on behalf of the Maldivian Democratic Party on this matter (Client number: 33010 Matter number: 0401704)

These new insights into the reality of these issues have raised questions about the FOM, the MDP and the legality of these establishments. Maldivian law does not allow foreign involvement in Maldivian politics. While FOM is the foreign arm of the MDP, and FOM is controlled by a foreigner (Hardingham) who is said to dictate terms to MDP itself exerting an inordinate degree of control.

Anni: A brief History

Anni was born on the 17th of May 1967, in Male’. His father was a well known businessman and terrorist ( Keneri Abdul Sattar, who in 1974 tried to assassinate the then president of the Maldives Mr Ibrahim Nasir, with the help of would be assassin Abdulla Luthfee).

Anni had a disturbed childhood, as his father’s company Safari Tours went bankrupt and all their possessions had to be auctioned off to pay Abdul Sattar’s creditors (here lies the famous buffulhi story). Anni was also brutally abused systematically by his uncle Abdul Jaleel (abujee).

Anni attended Majeediyya School from 1974 to 1981. As he wasn’t a particularly bright student and his progress was not satisfactory his father decided to ‘banish’ him off to a boarding school in Sri Lanka so that the Male’ locals would not know how poor a student Anni was. Hence Anni attended the Overseas School in Colombo from 1981 to 1982. His father’s laundered money also made sure that he was able to afford schooling in England. Anni attended Dautsye’s School in Wiltshire from 1982 to 1984. Where he scraped through his A Levels.

Anni certainly took his time in attaining a degree, as he spent five years, (not the normal three) from 1984 to 1989 at John Moore’s University in Liverpool attaining a degree in Maritime Studies. Part of the reason for this was the fact that Anni spent a lot of time (1985 to 88) planning the terrorist attack on the Maldives that took place in November 1988. This attack was financed by Anni’s uncle Sikka as was later revealed during the investigation that followed (Sikka was sentenced to death, for his part in murdering 19 innocent Maldivians). As can be expected from a mediocre son of a rich father, he did not manage to attain his degree with honours. Part of the reason being that

The problem with Anni (as with all such inadequate personalities) lied in the fact that he tried to prove to his family that he was not such a failure. He tried his best to win back the respect and love of his father and abusive uncle. Anni thought that the best way to achieve this was to achieve political power. Something his father, grandfather and uncles on both sides have always longed and lusted for. He thought if he achieved what they could not, he would in fact be treated as an equal. “These thoughts were formulating in his mind in the last months he spent in Liverpool”, says a close friend of Anni who wished to remain unnamed. His political cravings increased as he witnessed the civil unrest and riots that took place in Liverpool at the time. Anni began to believe as he does today that his road to political power was through rioting and violence, as the MDP has been demonstrating on the streets of Male’ in the recent past.

Soon after his return to Male’, Anni began working on his ambition of attaining political power. He started off by co founding a political Magazine that published utter lies and slander, in January 1990, called “Sangu”. Anni was sued, taken to court and subsequently put under house arrest for slander, as he could not prove his derogatory remarks and accusations in the court of law. The magazine was bankrupt as a result of this legal battle and unpaid damages. Hence the Government then withdrew the publication licenses for the magazine. Anni started inciting violence through hand printed leaflets that his cronies distributed all over the capital. He started to call for the people to come out on the streets, set fire to public property (as a result there were a lot of arson attacks in Male’ carried out by a group answering to Dr Waheed, who fled the country to avoid prosecution) and to try and breach the gates of the headquarters of the National Security Service. As a ploy to legitimise his actions Anni lied to a number of foreign journalists (such as Chris Morris of the BBC) whom he contacted and offered interviews to. Anni was arrested and detained at Dhoonidhoo Island for inciting violence and was considered as a threat to National Security (for his part in planning the attack in November 1988 and) as he was openly calling people to ‘attack’ the headquarters of the National Security Service in his leaflets. After a long court case Anni was sentenced to three years and six months on the 8th of April 1992. He was later pardoned (as always) in June 1993.

On his release Anni spent sometime at home, relaxing before resuming his clandestine activities. Anni flew to Madras India. Anni was in constant contact with a certain Professor Suriyaa Naryan (South Asia Department, University of Madras). “We planned to get the support of the Indian Government to overthrow Maumoon by force through Professor Naryan” revealed Sikka during a recent meeting in Sri Lanka to a group of MDP hardliners. Professor Naryan refused on the spot when he realised what Anni was actually asking of him. The Professor in turn informed the Indian authorities and Anni was told that he was no longer welcome in India (at that time). Anni flew to London, UK in August 1994. During his visit Anni gave an interview to the BBC, again lying about his true motives and making allegations about the Maldivian Government. He also met with a lot of prominent people in the UK, spreading his made up stories. He was awarded the Hamish Hamilton Award for Human Rights as a result. He was also made an honorary member of PEN although he was never a journalist. He spent four months in the UK spreading his lies to anyone who would listen (on the orders of his uncle, Sikka). He then returned to Sri Lanka where his family own a number of villas and holiday homes. He worked (without a visa or a work permit) as a journalist for the Sri Lankan newspaper The Island, as a cover while his actual objective was to recruit another mercenary group to overthrow Gayoom by force (as his uncle Sikka, hired the Peoples Liberation Organisation for Tamil Ealam, PLOTE, in late 1985 to carry out the attack in November 1988). Anni tried to open dialogue with the leaders of JVP who at the time were running a terror campaign at the time. Both the Sri Lankan and Maldivian authorities suspected Anni’s clandestine activities and Anni found out that his cover was blown when he was informed by James Lanrol (owner of the Island Group in Sri Lanka) that he was no longer welcome in Sri Lanka.

Anni immediately flew to Singapore where he met up with his girl friend, Laila (daughter of Billionaire Ali Abdulla) who was coming back to Maldives after living in Germany for a while. They came back to the Maldives together and got married. Anni had found another strong ally and financial backer for his clandestine activities, in his rich father-in-law. On orders from uncle Sikka, Anni started work in Male’ to covertly recruit as many people as possible to start up a new wave of rioting and violence. He worked for Inter-Press Service (IPS) on a sub contract basis as a cover. Anni was also simultaneously seeking a foreign mercenary group for hire. He had finally identified a potential group in Nepal, and flew to meet with them. His cover for this trip was that he was ‘attending’ the Journalists Conference held in Nepal at that time (he did attend a few sessions to meet with well known journalists to once again try and sell his lies). The Nepalese secret police were aware of Anni’s meetings with a known militant group and had consequently passed the information to the Maldivian NSS. Anni was detained on arrival on 30th November 1994 for questioning. Again after a long court case (during which Anni was NOT held in custody) he was sentenced for his planning of terrorism. Anni completed his sentence in 1997.

As soon as he was released Anni started his work on looking for ‘hired help’ as he referred to them to over throw the Government by force. He had vast amounts of money at his disposal as both his uncle (Sikka who owns several Island resorts in the Maldives) and father-in-law were willing to finance the whole operation. In the meantime Anni also asked by Sikka to stand for parliamentary elections as one of the MPs for Male’. Sikka and Abdulla spent over 10 million dollars for Anni’s campaign. They offered voters money in return for votes. As a result Anni was elected 2nd member for Male’ as Mr Ilyas Ibrahim had far greater votes (as Ilyas is a well known, and honourable man) and was elected 1st member for Male’. Anni started off and Internet magazine called “Sandhaanu” to “take care” of his political enemies in Parliament by publishing lies and slander about them. Anni was later arrested for breaking and entering as he tried to steal something from the house of the former president (whom his father tried to assassinate in 1974). He was sentenced on 8th November 2001. He was also disqualified as a member of parliament due to this. He was banished to Angolhitheemu. He was again pardoned on 29th August 2002. After his release, on the orders from Sikka Anni went about writing articles and books to publish in Sri Lanka (funded by Sikka and Ali Abdulla) to ‘fine tune’ Maldivian history so it favoured Anni’s family in foreign eyes (to hide the truth about Anni’s father’s attempted assassination of Ibrahim Nasir etc etc).

Then arose the case of Hassan Evan Naseem. Who was a young boy who was tortured and killed by some sadist wardens at Maafushi prison (these wardens have been tried, and sentenced to death). Anni saw this as a political opportunity and paid, a gang of drug addicts and hooligans to come out on the streets and riot. Burning public buildings and police vehicles. It was like music to him. It was what he had been dreaming for, for such a long time. It was like being in Liverpool again. It was like being in Colombo during the JVP terror campaign. But as all dreams come to an end this one did as well. When the situation in Male’ calmed down, the police began arresting those who were involved and those who planned it. Anni was taken in for questioning, and allowed to go home for a while. He fled the country taking this opportunity on the very same day to Sri Lanka.

He resumed his clandestine activities in Sri Lanka straight away. By this time Anni had formed the MDP. Although the international community was given the impression that the MDP is a democratic organisation. Its is in fact far from it. Sikka sits on the thrown. He finances all the activites. By this time Anni was able to recruit “white” people (as he referred to them) to promote MDP’s agendas in Europe, this included one David Hardingham. Hardingham, who ran a couple his mother’s shops (one in Salisbury, another in Southampton) Hardingham also recruited Paul Roberts as the editor of mini van news.

Sikka and Anni had realised that although they had the finances to achieve political power in the Maldives, they lacked the brains to plan another military attack. Hence Anni’s number one priority was to find and employ someone who had the know-how of planning and implementing destabilising operations before the military attack took place.

Anni left Sri Lanka for the UK on the 17th of February 2004. Spun a cock and bull story and acquired political asylum in the UK (I say cock and bull story as I know the facts, think, would he have ever returned to the Maldives? If not). Anni did not waste anytime after his arrival in the UK. He worked tirelessly meeting MPs and anyone else who would listen, spreading his lies. He also managed to hire the guy to plan all destabilising activities carried out by the MDP (Nick Grace).

Since his return to Male’ Anni has been inciting hatred as instructed by Grace. He has rallied MDP thugs, and carried out acts intimidating anyone who said anything against the MDP.

Sources say that MDP are urging its handful of supporters across the country in the distant atolls to travel to Male’ to take part in this show down. Sources close to the MDP leadership say that MDP chairperson Nasheed (Anni) is involved in the planning of this act. We have also learned that t he MDP thugs are again preparing iron bars and other weapons to confront the law enforcement organization if they try to disperse crowds. It has also come to our attention that the MDP is also preparing a smaller more elite group of thugs to start of the violence by appearing to be DRP and Adhaalath supporters opposing the MDP’s gathering.

Sources also inform us that the MDP’s plans to out do themselves, this time, surparssing the acts of violence seen on the streets of Male’ on the 12/13th August 2004 and the disturbances they caused in August this year.

A source inside the MDP also said that senior MDP officials, including terror godfather Sikka, ‘is giving this operation the utmost importance as President Gayoom will not be in the country on the 11th, as he is representing the Maldives at the SAARC Summit held in Bangladesh”. This will come as no surprise to those who followed the events of 3rd November 1988 when Sikka’s armed terrorists attacked the Capital Male’ in an effort to claim the presidency, killing 19 Maldivians. It was later found out during the investigation that the date of 3rd November was fixed by Sikka himself as he had information that lead him to believe that the President will not be in the country on the 3rd of November 1988 as he was supposed to leave for an offcial visit to India. Sikka was sentenced to death for his terrorist activites. He was later pardoned by President Gayoom

This is a time that His Excellency the President is saying before the public that the government would control drug trade that destroyed a generation of our country.

If you look at the case of Mr Ibrey of M.Yamyam (popularly known as Yamyam Ibrey) who was taken into Police custody by the Police at the premises of MPA where he worked as a driver. He was dismissed from MPA as he was caught by the Police with drugs and a huge amount of cash in hand.

But the current justice system gave him opportunity to come back and start living normally in a few days time. He is living at Hulhumale' and making money using the car as a TAXI that he bought before his arrest by Police.

Now, the people who listened what the President has told and what is happenning within the Justice System does not really match with each other. This is where the question arises. If people like Yamyam Ibrey are punished like this, who would care to do drug trade in this safe and secure environment???? This Yamyam Ibrey can be contacted on 7822272.

Please do not give room for such people to live safely in our fragile society as everyone of us know why actually such people are left without punishemnt. If you look into this, you would find where the fault is and you can correct it easily.

i was working in meeru island resort where sikka family members spend holiday. mr noordin is one of th boss managing meeru island resort. noordin is husband of nazee's elder sister jeedu and father sabra noordin.

let me start from the lady in red, mrs nazee. once she was married with a french guy and now sperated but not divorced yet. while she was in love with that frech guy Pilippe, she was having many other relationships with maldivian guys, one of them is an innocent guy from maroshi, his name is rauf. he was working in meeru island resort while she was on her training for 6 months in same island. she was studying in switzerland and came back to maldives for training.

she met rauf from there during her training in his department. they both spent wonderful time on the beach and in the room. this relationship was reported to her family thought on of other asutralian girl working in his department looking for a chance to get along with him, but he did not accept her offer as he is not interested for foreign girls. anyway since she reported that, nazee family reacted very angrily towards rauf as he is an islander who seems does not have a rich family background. therefore family is against him and against this relationship. but nazee was dating with this guy for long and still dates when even she gets a chance to meet him.

nazee brought her boy friend (at that time not married) to meeru island and keep dating with rauf secretly. rauf's room is next to her room, once pilippe slept she comes to rauf's room and leave. anyway her boy friend left the island again nazee started dating with rauf openly, but that wasnt easy for rauf to carry on as nazee family is against this relationship, therefore there lots of underground people spying around him, but this guy is a smart guy who knows how to grab the opportunity in dark. anyway nazee cheated this guy even though he knew that nazee was having many other relationships. nazee was telling him that she will never marry another guy if rauf is not available. anyway rauf was such a smart guy in terms of girls game.

he wanted to take every opportunity as a revenge because her family is against him saying he is such a poor islander. as i said rauf is a smar guy beause he is a simple guy dress very simple and able to get along with anybody, he never show off even though he is also from one of the wealthiest family in maldives. all meeru staffs likes him bacause of his friendly and helping attitude towards the colleagues and also his leadership skills. if u want check u can call any of champa resort and ask about him, every one says he is wonderful guy. now he is not working for champa any longer as he is studying for MBA in australia. nazee sleeps with her father with same bed and take shower toghter. now i leave this to readers to imaging what relationship does she has with father. sikka systemeticaly scduled sharing bed with all his daughters. if u have a doubt about this u can clarify this with sri lankan maid in sikka's house in male'. maid is bit worried about her safty but if u promis that u will not leak her name then she will tell u the truth.

one more incidence in meeru, pilippe invited one of his friend to come to meeru for holiday. when he was in meeru nazee had gourp sex with pilippe and with his frech friend and took lots of heroin. pilippe is a drug edict who even invites to smoke other maldivian staffs working in meeru, one of the is Alim who is the front office manager now in meeru. alim was getting lots of europian drugs though philippe and sells in meeru and in male'. after some times Alim did betray philippe reporting to police giving his flight number and all the details about him before he arrived from france. finaly police cought drugs red hand from philippe and reported. alim did this through his wife working in police. since pilippe deported, nazee forced to live in UK because pilippe can not live in maldives anymore. soon after he deported he got a job from one the hotel in london, then nazee followed him and got a job from London Hilton. after she changed to UK she married pilippe, but after three months they separated as pilippe saw nazee was having sex with one of her relative studying in UK and again he saw she was having sex with one the maldivian guy in UK.

because of this pilippe took his secret girl home and sleep with her infront of nazee. from this point they both seperated. now nazee is after her ex sex mate, mr Formee (MDP drug reformist). formee was taken to jail during august 12/13 and spend time with anni in jail. nazee is spending lots of money for formee to get his daily brown suger doze as he can not live withouth brown suger.
